Claude.Vorihon aka Rael

 We’re sure most of you remember the 1979 sci-fi classic CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF A THIRD KIND. Most of us thought it was only science fiction. Little did we know at the time that there were people on Earth who actually had already had contact with aliens.

Meet Claude.  According to his web site:

“On the 13th of December 1973, French sports-car journalist Claude Vorihon, known now as Rael, was contacted by a visitor, named Yahweh, from another planet, and asked to establish an Embassy to welcome these people back to Earth.”

And guess what?  No camera, no tape recorder. If ever there was a Kodak moment this was it.

FRENCH CONNECTION

Add to this the fact that Claude is French. Which reminds us, Francois Truffaut, who was also French, played a scientist in CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF A THIRD KIND. Wait a minute, maybe there is a connection of some sort if we dig a little deeper. Everybody knows that the French people love, we mean LOVE, Jerry Lewis, right?

And Jerry was in a 1960’s movie called Visit to a Small Planet and in it he played a guess what? An alien named Kreton.

The French, Jerry Lewis, aliens --- it’s all starting to make sense some how. But wait, it gets stranger.

RAELIAN STORY

According to the Raelian web site:

"Traces of this epic masterpiece of creation can be found in all religious writings and traditions. It is to them that Moses, Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed referred. It is now time to welcome them."

THE MESSAGES

"The messages dictated to Rael explain that life on Earth is not the result of random evolution, nor the work of a supernatural 'God'. It is a deliberate creation, using DNA, by a scientifically advanced people who made human beings literally "in their image" -- what one can call "scientific creationism." References to these scientists and their work, as well as to their symbol of infinity, can be found in the ancient texts of many cultures. Basically the Raelians are into: Intelligent Design (unlike the Discovery Institute, the Raelians aren't afraid to admit that the Intelligent Designers are aliens), cloning, masturbation, homosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality, nudity,

So, let’s review.

According to the Raelian Movement:

Intelligent Design =

Is this what we want taught in our schools?

No wonder the Founding Fathers wanted to keep a separation between church and state.

Now we understand why the ID folks don’t want to talk about the details of Intelligent Design. 
Now we see why the Creationists and the ID folks can't agree about ID just being creationism in sheep's clothing.
Now we know why EVOLUTIONISTS want to keep a lid on the Intelligent Design Controversy.

ADDING TO THE CONTROVERSY

What is interesting and may be very revealing is Rael’s resemblance to the Biblical scholar and religious guru…the late, great George Carlin.  What would George say about Raelians and Intelligent Design?  We’ll leave that to your imagination.
