YABBA DABBA DOO MUSEUM
OR
Creationism and the
Post-Jurassic-Neo-Flintstonian Movement

Picture
MISSIONARY LIZARDS?
To discuss Creationism and the Post-Jurassic-Neo-Flintstonian Movement let us take a look at the new $27,000,000 ( THAT's
27 MILLION DOLLARS) museum dedicated to that very subject.

We don't know if this is a church posing as a museum or a humor site posing as a museum.

There was a time when Man and dinosaurs co-existed… we know, we know, some of you visiting the museum don’t agree. But there is proof. Most of you might remember the following little ditty ~

Flintstones Theme Song

Picture
Click us to see the opening theme.
Flintstones,
Meet the Flintstones.
They're the modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.

Let's ride with the family down the street.
Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet.

When you're with the Flintstones
you'll have a yabba dabba doo time.
A dabba doo time.
You'll have a gay old time.

DINOSAURS AND HUMANS CO-EXISTED

Picture
We know some people are laughing but that is what the Creation Museum in the State of Kentucky is telling people. Actually, the museum is in the state of Denial.

Yes, the old cartoon series created by the team of Hanna-Barbara has been turned into a $27 MILLION museum.  Sort of.

The Creation Museum claims on their web site: "The museum's striking exhibits demonstrate to guests that the Bible is the “true history book of the universe
."'

BEDROCK HERE WE COME.

Picture
The Creation Museum is a Flintstone Museum but without the Flintstones. But that hasn’t stopped the folks from going totally Hanna-Barbarian on us.

PFF
OR
PRE-FRED FLINTSTONE

Picture
Now to be fair, there was a caveman hanging out with dinosaurs long before the Flintstones.  His name was ALLEY OOP and he even had a time machine.  This was a comic strip that started in the 1930's.  It wasn't real.

Same thing with The Flintstones --- it isn't real.  It is a cartoon.

Maybe the Creation Museum wanted to use the Flintstones or Alley Oop but couldn’t get the rights or something so they settled on Adam and Eve.  That's right, instead of using Fred and Barney, the Creation Museum hit on the wild idea of using Adam and Eve.

Wait a minute --- Dinosaurs and Adam and Eve? Yep…but we’re getting ahead of ourselves. More about them in the next section.

We were talking about dinosaurs, remember?

So why include dinosaurs in a Bible museum? The Bible doesn’t even mention dinosaurs. True, but it does mention behemoths.

Where in the world did the Creation Museum get the idea that behemoths were dinosaurs?

Picture
EXBIBIT B (FOR BEHEMOTHS)
Need we say more?  It is easy to imagine a little, lonely Aussie kid with bad acne watching this movie in a dingy little movie theatre in the outback of Australia while a projectionist hand cranked the projector.  Seeing a movie like this on the big screen back then must of had a profound effect on a young and gullible mind.  It is easy to see why one would become obsessed with dinosaurs as an adult.

A boy and his Dinosaur

“Rapture? I thought they said raptor.”
Or maybe the folks at the Creation Museum saw Jurassic Park and thought Dinosaurs would be a cool way to reach young people. Nothing wrong with that …if they told the truth.

Read this little excerpt from AIG web site:

How Can We Use Dinosaurs to Spread the Creation Gospel Message?

by Buddy Davis
February 14, 2008

Dinosaurs are some of the most fascinating animals, and children especially are intrigued by them. This is one reason why evolutionists use them, over and over, to teach millions of years and evolution. Christians, however, should use dinosaurs to teach the true history of the universe. When children, young people, and adults are informed about the truth of dinosaurs, they can answer the questions of a skeptical world and spread the good news of the gospel. When dinosaurs are used to spread the gospel, they become “missionary lizards.”

MOVIE DINOSAUR REVIEW 101

MISSIONARY LIZARDS?

We’re sorry but is that stupid or what?  Any school age child knows dinosaurs are not lizards.  If the folks at the Creation Museum had seen Jurassic Park or watched something on television besides reruns of the Flintstones then they might know something about dinosaurs too.  Or maybe they have watched movies --- old dinosaur movies and that’s the problem

People, young and old, have been fascinated with dinosaurs since they were first discovered in the 1800’s.  They have been part of popular culture and used in media ever since.

One of the first was a dinosaur named Gertie.

Gertie wasn’t a real dinosaur.  She was drawn by hand and animated.  It was a cartoon.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote THE LOST WORLD and it was made into a movie using stop-motion animation to recreate the dinosaurs.

That was followed a few years later by another film that featured dinosaurs.

KING KONG

This one film inspired generations of film makers.

Maybe the people who dreamed up the museum saw too many movies and believed they were real --- like the aliens in the movie GALAXY QUEST that thought the movies were historical documents.  They couldn’t tell the difference between what was real and what was imaginary.

But why weren’t the folks at the Creation Museum able to separate what was true from that which was obviously false?  (We answer that  question in the next chapter. I.M.P.)

Clearly images make strong impressions.  Perhaps the cumulative effect of all these dinosaur movies made a lasting impression.

TIMES ARE A CHANGING...

As good as these movies were, there was a movie made in the 1960's that forever changed how Mankind measured Dinosaur movies.  Actually it was remake of a film from the 1940's.  However this one starred an unknown actress named Raquel Welch and as they say "The rest is history."

SOMETHING IS MISSING

Picture
The ladies from DINOSAUR ISLAND would make great TOUR GUIDES.
You can’t argue with Raquel Welch when she is wearing a fur bikini. Unfortunately, she is not on display at the museum.  This raises another question:  Since it is a fact that dinosaurs and scantily clad sexy babes go together, why aren't there any tour guides at the Creation Muserum dressed accordingly?  We know some people are going to say that the CREATION MUSEUM is catering to children.  No one complained when the first FLINTSTONE movie featured the lovely and super sexy HALLE BERRY as a seductive cave woman.  The filmmakers understood that dinosaurs and sexy cave women are the norm.  We will address this and other issues in our next section about Adam and Eve.

The Creation Museum has no problem with humans and dinosaurs co-existing. What they have a problem with, and perhaps why they are rejecting or ignoring Raquel Welch in a fur bikini (that's not easy to do folks), is that it happened ONE MILLION YEARS B.C.

How to solve that? Find another cool dinosaurs and humans movie that doesn’t mention any specific dates like…

Still have doubts about where the folks at the Creation Museum get their inspiration?

Compare this scene from the movie WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH…
Picture
Picture
...with this familiar scene from the GARDEN OF EDEN at the Creation Museum.

Still not convinced?  Compare the two illustrations below.  One almost the mirror image of the other.  Seperated by nearly a hundred years and yet their motives are the same --- to make money by exploiting the image of the dinosaurs.

DINOSAURS =
CASH COWS

In spite of what the Creation Museum may claim, Dinosaurs have captured our imaginations in books, movies and television since they were first identified by real scientists over a hundred years and fifty years ago.

Why does the Creation Museum really use dinosaurs?

For one simple reason. They sell tickets. Plain and simple.

Which raises a couple of  interesting questions:

Why is a church organization charging admission to what is basically an animatronic church?

Why is the Creation Museum commercializing religion?

Is nothing sacred anymore?
