DARWIN'S THEORY OF EVOLUTION
Ever since Charles Darwin published the ORIGIN OF SPECIES in 1859 a lot of people have been unhappy with the idea that we humans might have evolved from a lower life form. It kind of threw a monkey wrench into the whole CREATIONIST movement. So much so that laws were passed in some states outlawing the teaching of evolution in public schools.
The debate goes on.
Did life evolve over millions of years?
(As an Old Earth Creationist, Id have to say I believe the answer is yes. I.M.P)
(Sorry, to disagree with you Iggy but as a Young Earth Creationist Id have to say I believe the answer is NO! Look Bishop Ussher did careful calculations based on the Bible and figured out that the earth is only about 6,000 years old. F.B.B.)

THE TRUTH ABOUT THEORY
Young Earth Creationist like Bucky like to say that EVOLUTION is only a theory as if "theory" was a bad word. In science, THEORY is a great word. It means something has been tested by means of the scientific method and proven to be correct. A HYPOTHESIS is an unproven idea or argument. Darwin's THEORY OF EVOLUTION is a theory. Einstein's THEORY OF RELATIVITY is a theory. Gravity is a theory. If Darwin's theory was a hypothesis there might be reason for concern. Instead, Darwin's theory has been tested and proven correct numerous times. It continues to grow and evolve as new areas of science are discovered. Is it pseudo science? Not really, but as long as people question it we will also. (I disagree. It's pseudoscience. F.B.B.)

THE WORLD ISN'T FLAT
Something to consider when talking about Darwin and Evolution. We have learned a great deal since the different stories of the Bible were first passed down from one generation to the next. Back then, it was believed that the world was flat and the sun traveled around the earth. Old ideas die hard. Did you ever notice that we still refer to the sun setting and rising even though we have known for over 500 years that the sun doesn't move ---why is that?
Galileo was tried by the Inquisition and found "vehemently suspect of heresy," for saying that the earth was not the center of the Universe. We now know he was right.

EVOLUTION OF AN IDEA
Darwin wrote the ultimate science text book. He achieved what the folks at the DISCOVERY INSTITUTE failed to do with their book PANDAS AND PEOPLE. Darwin explained the wonderful mechanism by which all living things came to be without saying who was responsible. This is why it is science and not religion. We shouldn't blame Darwin for evolution. Darwin is merely the messager. Darwin didn't invent Evolution he just reported what he found. He, in essense, wrote the technical manual for what some might say someone else had invented. His job was to talk about how the device works but not talk about who or how it was invented. He was given a brain to think and that is what he did.
